Marianne, The Alchemist, and The Royal Academy: Ebba Thott’s London

Ebba Thott

For Whitewaller’s inaugural London&Paris issue, out for Frieze London 2016, we handpicked a few insiders—a select group of those in-the-know on all things London—that shared with us how to navigate the city during the art fair. Next up, we have interior designer, Ebba Thott, who shares her top spots to eat, drink, network, and relax next week.

Where to eat
My favorite restaurant in London and an absolute food experience is Marianne in Notting Hill. Make sure to make a reservation well ahead of time. It’s low key but hands-down the best sushi is found at Dinings. And The Little Social has a serious shepherd’s pie.

Where to sipp
Mr. Fogg’s, order a Kettle One gimlet. At The Alchemist, has a great bloody mary.

Where to network
A good place to people watch, as well as meet interesting people, or a laid-back meeting, is Soho House.

Where to see art
The Serpentine Gallery, Haymarket, and White Cube.

Where to have fun
At Southbank there are always things going on to participate or just watch. Alternatively I’m a big fan of Modern Dance and I go to Sadler’s Wells regularly. If you want something more alternative you can find anything from burlesque shows to fantasy events on Y-Plan.

Where to relax
Have a pre dinner/or afternoon drink or a hot chocolate in from of the fire at :ittle House Mayfair (they have good bloody marys or a Tequila Picante). Or have tea and discuss your inspirations at The Academicians’ Room in the Keeper’s House, at the Royal Academy.
