For EXPO Chicago 2016, we heard from a small batch of handpicked insiders—a selective group of Chicago professionals that give us their tips on how to navigate the city during the art fair. Next up, we have Rhona Hoffman, founder and owner of Rhona Hoffman Gallery, who shares her top spots to eat, drink, network, and relax at surrounding the busy art-filled week.
Where to eat
Mirai Sushi. Get the tuna salmon roll and spicy baked king crab served Nigiri style. I also like Piccolo Sogno in the garden—order the branzino. And at Salpicon I’ll get the tiger shrimp with garlic, olive oil, avocado, and chili peppers.
Where to sip
No favorite places to drink but, I’ll have a vodka martini, or very good red or white wine and margaritas.
Where to network
Wherever it happens.
Where to see art
The Art Institute and the MCA.
Where to have fun
Wherever the people I like want to go.
Where to relax
Either my apartment or my house in Michigan.
