Miami Art Week After Dark: The Hottest Parties, DJ Sets, Pop-Ups, and Cultural Collabs

From wellness talks to brand launches, artist lunches, and award ceremonies, Art Basel Miami Beach kept the city moving day and night.

Art Basel Miami Beach 2025 arrived and vanished in a blink, as Vice City once again became the backdrop for artists, designers, brands, and cultural institutions to gather for a week of boundary-pushing creativity. Even after the fairs closed each evening, the momentum never slowed. Miami shifted into its after-hours mode with intimate artist lunches, collaboration debuts, the inaugural Art Basel Awards, and DJ-led nightlife takeovers. Whitewall highlights some of the week’s standout Art Basel Miami Events and celebrations leading into the weekend.

Friday night’s opening of Tribeca Festival came alive under the stars at the iconic open-air Miami Beach Bandshell, backed by Google Gemini. The Bogotá-based, Latin Grammy–nominated collective Monsieur Periné headlined — preceded by a lively set from Cucu of Ear Candy — offering a spirited start to the weekend. Draped in vivid orange and turquoise, the ensemble mirrored Miami’s sun-soaked skyline and shimmering waters, their rhythms weaving through the city’s multicultural pulse and honoring its vibrant Latino heritage.

Now in its fourth year, centered around Art Basel Miami Beach, Tribeca Festival continues to celebrate sound as a form of cultural conversation. On the Bandshell’s sand-kissed stage, as ocean breezes drifted through the night air and Latin beats filled the sky, the evening came to feel less like a concert and more like a celebration, a portrait of Miami’s soul in motion.

The members-only art club and creative agency The Cultivist hosted its annual Artist Lunch with BMW at 1 Hotel South Beach, this year celebrating sculptor and installation artist Kennedy Yanko. Nearly 200 collectors and cultural tastemakers gathered for an immersive dining experience shaped by Yanko’s themes of transformation and forward-thinking design. Known for her use of found metal and “paint skin,” Yanko layers and manipulates materials to challenge optical perception and reveal what the eye overlooks.

Set on the hotel’s oceanfront lawn, with a vivid blue BMW on display and waves framing the scene, the afternoon unfolded as both tribute and conversation. Guests exchanged reflections on Yanko’s growing impact and shared stories from a week defined by art, community, and a renewed sense of creative energy at one of the best Art Basel Miami events.

Thursday evening, Art Basel unveiled its first class of Gold Awardees in a high-impact ceremony at the late Frank Gehry–designed New World Center. The event marked the culmination of the inaugural Art Basel Awards cycle, honoring practitioners whose work is actively shaping contemporary art and culture. Hosted by producer Kasseem “Swizz Beatz” Dean, the night unfolded through an interplay of music, architecture, performance, gastronomy, and cross-cultural exchange, following the program’s debut milestone in Basel this June.

A sense of “by the artist, for the artist, with the people” resonated throughout the space setting the tone for future editions. Afterward, Dylan Kelly hosted the after-party, encouraging creative dialogue across disciplines. Honorees received hand-blown glass trophies by Jacques Herzog of Herzog & de Meuron, each uniquely formed to evoke the shape of breath. In partnership with BOSS, the evening signaled a dynamic new chapter for the fair, at one of the best Art Basel Miami events.

For one day only, on December 6, The Replay Gallery presented an immersive exhibition inspired by Apple Music Replay, tracing each listener’s personal year in music. The experience reframed individual listening histories as a dialogue between identity, memory, and creativity—highlighting how our relationship to songs, artists, and sound evolves. Visual reinterpretations by contemporary artists echoed the cultural and emotional currents that shaped 2025. Works by Angel Otero, Calida Rawles, Devon Turnbull, Gabriel Moses, Henry Taylor, Jeremy Deller, Sara Sadik, and Tommy Malekoff offered new perspectives on the universal language of music, transforming familiar playlists into a shared, multisensory reflection of the year.

The evening prior, Apple Music welcomed artists, editors, and industry tastemakers to a private preview featuring music by Tim Sweeney and bites from American Gurl Burger by Kilo Kish.

Lindsay Lohan at the Wellness Oasis

Not a party, but carrying an electric and inspiring energy, actress Lindsay Lohan joined the Wellness Oasis
presented by Chase for an intimate “Life, Balance & Self-Care” conversation moderated by well-being educator and author Devi Brown. In a refreshingly open dialogue, Lohan spoke about motherhood, identity, and the evolving meaning of well-being, sharing how becoming a mom shifted her approach from trying to “do it all” to creating space for presence, intuition, and boundaries.

She reflected on the grounding rituals that shape her days—breathing exercises, morning phone-free time, gratitude journaling, and being with family—emphasizing that wellness is less about perfection and more about consistently showing up for oneself. Brown guided the discussion toward themes many women relate to today: redefining ambition, listening to the body’s first instinct, and nurturing smaller but deeper communities. Lohan’s message was clear: fulfillment often lives in the ordinary moments of connection and kindness, a reminder that left attendees deeply inspired.
