Monday evening, e headed to El Espacio 23, where acquisitions from the Jorge M. Pérez Collection came together for a look at Cuban culture and history titled “You Know Who You Are.” Commemorating the show—which features more than 80 intergenerational Cuban-diasporic artists—guests mingled over live music, drinks, and passed bites in the outdoor courtyard of the art space, while indoors, they were invited to experience artworks from the likes of Wifredo Lam, Zilia Sánchez, Raúl Cordero, Belkis Ayón, and Juana Valdés, spread across two floors of exhibition space.

Later that night, we headed to White Cubes 11th annual beach party at Soho Beach House Miami. The coveted fête saw guests like Joe Jonas, Alex Gartenfeld, Tunji Adeniyi-Jones, Mary Rozell, and Marc Spiegler enjoying an oceanside meal before the party kicked off with performances from Roy Ayers and Kelis. The following morning, the gallery continued its Art Week celebrations with a conversation featuring Derrick Adams and curators Tiffany Auttrianna Ward and Thomas James, hosted with the champagne maison Armand de Brignac.

For a sun-filled Tuesday afternoon we joined La Prairie at the Cobalt Club—a luxurious poolside activation at The Standard Spa commemorating the 20th edition of Art Basel and the skincare house’s relationship with the late artist Niki de Saint Phalle, whose work inspired its cobalt blue signature. With views of the Biscayne Bay, we were treated to champagne and caviar, manicures and hand massages featuring the brand’s products, and tarot readings, before leaving with gift bags of Skin Caviar in tow. Through December 4, La Prairie is also taking over the hotel spa, offering a menu of special treatments in honor of Art Week.

That evening, we headed to Giorgio Armani’s Design District boutique for the launch of its “LOVE” activation. Specially conceived for Art Basel Miami, the initiative encompasses a series of blue animal sculptures by Marcantonio which are on view across the neighborhood, an exclusive collection of non-gendered garments and accessories (like a suite of colorful tiny handbags), and an accompanying AR adventure, taking participants on a journey that ends at the retail space, which has been transformed in all blue for the occasion. In attendance were names like Coco Bassey, Eric Nam, Victor Cruz, Xenia Adonts, and Pritika Swarup, who could be seen browsing the collection to the driving beats of a DJ set, bubbly sips in hand.

On Wednesday night, Maison Margiela debuted its limited-edition “Glam Slam” capsule, introduced especially for Miami Art Week and available exclusively at the Design District store. Within the boutique’s elevated neutral-and-stone interiors, attendees like Madelynn Furlong, Karen Blanchard, Helga Hansen, Trippie Redd, Alex Gowon, and Katya Tolstova enjoyed champagne and conversation, whilst shopping several iterations of the cloudlike handbag, as well as the maison’s latest offerings in men’s and womenswear.

Nearby, B&B Italia marked the launch of its capsule collection with Stella McCartney, “Le Bambole,” with a lively cocktail at its showroom on NE 2nd Avenue. On view in the front, the enchanting three-piece capsule was installed with an installation of the special hand-drawn Fungi Forest print (found in the fashion brand’s Summer 2022 collection), making the ideal spot to stop and pose for photos. After taking in the collection—which marks the 50th anniversary of Mario Bellini’s Le Bambole armchair—guests mingled with margaritas and enjoyed a live DJ set.

Next, we headed to Ocean Drive for the reveal of the Pelican Hotel, which reopened its doors after a two-year renovation. Following an intimate preview of the boutique hotel, the hotel’s owner and the Founder of DIESEL, Renzo Rosso, hosted a guest list of names from across the worlds of art, fashion, media, and more in the penthouse. There on the suite’s private terrace, names like Valentina Hites, Sarah Hoffman, Michelle Weinerman, Giacomo Nicolodi, and Arianna Alessi were treated to exceptional ocean views, sparkling wine by Bolle di Rosso, and canapés by Wendy Cacciatori of the hotel’s Pelican Café.
