Michel Auder Screens “Chelsea Girls with Andy Warhol” at Hotel Chelsea

No contributor

Last Thursday, a private screening of Michel Auder‘s Chelsea Girls with Andy Warhol was held in Manhattan’s landmarked Hotel Chelsea’s storefront. It was the film’s most recent edit, 20 years after initially filming. It explores the local art scene of downtown New York beginning in 1969, acquiring a distinct peek into the life of Warhol. Bits and pieces of the film take place at Hotel Chelsea, where Auder and his wife Viva (principle talent of Warhol) and their newborn baby resided during filming. Other various locations and events were also captured to help paint the portrait of Warhol’s development and relationships with his actors and supporters.

Attendees on Thursday evening included Ed Scheetz, Michael Avedon, Susanne Bartsch, Lizzi Bougatsos, Todd Eberle, Anthony Elms, Nur Khan, Guido Callarelli, Indira Cesarine, Sante D’Orazio, Fernanda Lima, Aurora Lopez, Richard Pandiscio, Max Levai, Jack Pierson, Nemo Librizzi, and Eve Therond.
