LISTE, Galerie 1900-2000, and Hidden Bar: Mitchell Anderson’s Basel

All this week in preparation for Art Basel 2019, we’re hearing from leading design, art, culture, and lifestyle experts on how they enjoy Basel.

“The project space I started in 2014 in Zürich, Plymouth Rock, will open an exhibition of the American sculptor Tony Feher the weekend before Art Basel. Don’t miss it before you travel up to Basel. At Art Basel, the booth of Galerie 1900-2000 is a priority—with a mix of modernist and midcentury works, there is always a discovery and a dream. To escape from the crowd, you need to find the Hidden Bar, featuring art by friends and the best coffee in the fair. It’s not on any maps, so you’ll need to ask around. At night, I like to take advantage of the LISTE’s extended hours and have a beer with friends as the sun sets. It’s the place to catch up with artists and their dealers doing the most exciting projects of the week. I’m looking forward to Dora Budor’s exhibition at the Kunsthalle Basel. The party spots change night to night and year to year, but I always finish the week stumbling out of the Kunsthalle Bar.”
