The 25th Annual Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award cocktail reception took place on June 6 in Los Angeles at the Chateau Marmont. Montblanc celebrated the North American winner of their award: writer and philanthropist Maria Arena Bell. Attendance included actresses Ashley Greene, Bryce Dallas Howard, photographer Caroline “Chuck” Grant, entrepreneur and philanthropist Eli Broad, producer Gisella Marengo, Robert “Bobby” Kennedy III, artists Jonas Wood, Thomas Houseago, and art dealers Jackie & Irving Blum.
Writer, producer, patron, philanthropist, and awardee, Maria Arena Bell arrived in a stunning, carefully selected pale pink Chloé dress, (the French fashion house is owned by luxury holding company Richemont, the same as Montblanc). Bell started the evening posing for photos on the event red carpet with her daughter Sabrina Bell who had come to support her mother.
Actresses Greene and Howard, fans of the maison, were wearing the same Montblanc bracelet, the Montblanc full pave bangle. In addition to the pave bangle and rose gold bracelets, Bryce wore the Montblanc Boheme Date Automatic timepiece.
Sylvain Costof, president of Montblanc North America, kicked off the evening’s cocktail reception by introducing Klaus Biesenbach (current director of MoMA PS1 and chief curator at large for the MoMA). Biesenbach commented on Bell’s work with the charity PS Arts and also that Bell has raised over $100 million for the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. During her speech, Bell commented on how writing is her art and that art should be accessible for all to enjoy.
