Combining unlikely elements is typical of innovative eyewear brand MYKITA. Known for its hand-crafted eyewear made solely at the MYKITA HAUS in Berlin, MYKITA has managed to construct a minimalistic yet fantastical visual language with its sixth campaign.
MYKITA collaborated with award-winning fashion photographer, Mark Borthwick to create the art edition photo book set, Out of this World. Borthwick captured images of friends, family members, and models surrounded by the naturally mystical backdrop of Lanzarote, a remote island surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. Exclusively using a 25-year-old analogue Leica camera and no artificial lighting, Borthwick brought his unique style to the campaign with overexposed film giving the images prism-like lighting and color effects.

Borthwick’s signature ability to “evoke the satisfactions of home, family, and harmony with nature,” while maintaining MYKITA’s minimalistic concept feels effortless. The box set features the book and one of three art edition prints signed and numbered by Borthwick. A limited number of 99 art editions are available now at the MYKITA store in New York.
