Last Wednesday, the National YoungArts Foundation celebrated 35 years of the organization’s support and ongoing patronage of young talent with its first New York gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in the Temple of Dendur in the Sackler Wing.
The inaugural event brought together 200 of the city’s cultural leaders, philanthropists, and art aficionados to honor this year’s talented 819 YoungArts winners, who were selected from a massive pool of 12,000 applications, 100 of which hailed from the greater New York area.

In collaboration with Swarovski, the night was hosted by honorary co-chairs and artistic advisors Mikhail Baryshnikov, opera singer Plácido Domingo, and gala co-chairs Sarah Arison and Agnes Gund.
During the evening, a series of interdisciplinary performances took place by YoungArts alumni including Julia Easterlin (2008 Winner in Voice), Jake Goldbas (2007 Winner in Jazz), Jeff Picker (2007 Winner in Jazz and U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts), and Demi Remick (2013 Winner in Dance).
