Tuesday night at Casa Claridge in Miami Beach, NeueHouse presented a 2014 take on a piece of New York City history: Glenn O’Brien’s public access show, TV PARTY. On air from 1978 – 1982, the show rejected the standard talkshow format in favor of fun, and featured icons such as David Byrne, Debbie Harry, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. The new TV PARTY, co-hosted by O’Brien and Andre Saraiva, featured lights, cameras, and action, including performances by Theophilus London, ASTR, and Kembra Pfahler, against a backdrop of pink paint and faux stained glass. Guests were met by jack-of-all-trades Colter Rule in a kimono, and entered Casa Claridge to find camera men and sound guys ready and waiting to hop in and capture a moment. The champagne was flowing, and guests such as Neville Wakefield, Jose Parla, Petra Collins, Hailey Gates, Scout Willis, Alan Faena and more took their turns in front of the camera throughout the evening as O’Brien looked on. We’ll look forward to episode one!
