On Thursday, June 1, the New York Botanical Garden raised $1.7 million toward education and international plant research at its annual black-tie Conservatory Ball.
The gala chairs include Alexandra Lebenthal, Gillian Miniter, Deborah Goodrich Royce, and Catherine Marlette Waddell. The benefactors for the ball were Maureen and Richard Chilton, Amy Goldman, Fowler and Cary Fowler, Mr. and Mrs Charles B. Johnson, and Deborah and Charles Royce.
In attendance were 500 guests, including Genevieve Barker, Linda Fargo, Lisa Harbert, Alexandra Lebenthal, Gillian Miniter, Deborah Royce, Suada Velija, Eleanore and Domenico de Sole, Fe Fendi, Tim Harbert, Larry Milstein, and Michelle Smith.
NYBG’s exhibition “CHIHULY” exhibition, which runs through October 29, is currently on view throughout the garden, including more than 20 pieces by glass artist Dale Chihuly.
Guests were encouraged to enjoy cocktails after being welcomed by a royal blue carpet. Music was provided by a live jazz trio among the flowering trees of the Perennial Garden. Afterward, everyone was ushered inside to enjoy NYBG’s many spectacles like the “Palms of the World,” “Seasonal Galleries,” and more.
