Octavia, 500 Capp Street, and The Tenderloin Museum: Jessica Silverman’s San Francisco

This week, Whitewaller San Francisco launches for FOG Design + Art (January 11—14). To help guide you to the best spots in town—where you can eat, drink, see art, and relax at, we hear from a group of insiders. Next up, we hear from Jessica SilvermanOwner and Director of Jessica Silverman Gallery.

WHERE TO EAT AND SIP
Octavia: The intimate atmosphere and California cuisine never disappoint! Cala: I can’t get enough of their trout tostados and great mezcal cocktails. Rye bar: a local bar in the Tenderloin that has innovative drinks every season. Zuni: amazing drinks, great wine list, and delicious food.

WHERE TO SEE ART
The Legion of Honor: worth the drive to see not only interesting art but also amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge. SFMOMA: new and sparkly clean with beautiful, vast spaces. The Tenderloin Museum: It’s my local museum and it’s small but feisty. 500 Capp Street: This is David Ireland’s home, which has been turned into an incredible nonprofit and exhibition space. It’s breathtaking and totally unique.

WHERE TO HAVE FUN AND RELAX
Drive to Sausalito, walk the town, and eat at Fish on the docks. Ocean Beach: Drive to the end of the city, walk on the beach. If time permits, check out Outerlands, The General Store, and Trouble Coffee on Judah Street.
