The Palm House Hotel

Palm House Reopens in Palm Beach

After being closed for 17 years, the luxurious Palm House hotel has reopened in Palm Beach. We spoke with Chris Jaycock, the hotel’s general manager, to hear about how it exemplifies Palm Beach’s beautiful atmosphere and what art and design details are not to be overlooked.

After being closed for 17 years, the luxurious Palm House has reopened in Palm Beach. Located on Royal Palm Way, the destination marks the first U.S. property for the London-based Iconic Luxury Hotels collection by L+R Hotels. Restored and reimagined for its new chapter, the hotel now offers 79 guest rooms and suites, a living room–like lobby, the Palm Bar, the Palm House Dining Room restaurant, a serene courtyard, an expansive ballroom, the Sunset pool, and more.

Whitewall spoke with Chris Jaycock, the hotel’s general manager, to hear about how it exemplifies Palm Beach’s beautiful atmosphere and what art and design details are not to be overlooked.

WHITEWALL: How do you hope visitors to Palm Beach explore the property and enjoy it throughout their stay? What’s not to miss?

CHRIS JAYCOCK: We invite guests to experience a seamless blend of relaxation and style across every space. The living room–like lobby, reminiscent of a luxurious jewel box, immediately draws you in with plush ruby-toned seating, two floor-to-ceiling seashell tapestries, and a seashell-adorned reception desk. At the Palm House Dining Room, guests can enjoy all-day dining in a chic indoor setting or on the outdoor terrace, which opens up to the Sunset pool deck. This secluded, poolside retreat serves as a serene oasis ideal for leisurely afternoons, complete with a sunken heated pool, cabana beds, and cushioned loungers. Attentive pool butlers elevate every afternoon with special touches such as Evian spritzes and sunglass cleaning. After a day of sunbathing, unwind in one of our 58 guestrooms or 21 suites.

Each has been designed to offer a sense of expansive luxury, averaging over 550 square feet, making them among the most spacious accommodations in Palm Beach. Refined details throughout each room, from coral headboards to woven sconces, infuse the space with a touch of Palm Beach’s iconic style. As the evening sets in, Palm Bar is the destination where timeless sophistication is brought to life with bartenders in white tuxedo jackets crafting classic and inventive cocktails, all served at the luminous pink marble bar. The art collection throughout Palm House is not to be missed—from Slim Aarons’s iconic photography celebrating the glamour of 1950s Palm Beach to contemporary pieces by Tim MacPherson, Dean West, and Brad Walls that bring playfulness to the decor, adding a nostalgic edge that celebrates Palm Beach’s golden era.

WW: Palm House will feature the largest hotel bed in Palm Beach with an Alaskan King bed in the two-story Presidential Suite. Can you give us a peek at this space and share what’s special?

CJ: The two-story Presidential Suite at Palm House will quickly become Palm Beach’s most coveted hotel suite, featuring nearly 2,000 square feet of refined living space, including one bedroom and one-and-a-half bathrooms. Its Alaskan King bed, measuring nine feet by nine feet, will stand out as the largest hotel bed in Palm Beach. The decor seamlessly blends luxurious textures and calming color palettes. Soft, muted tones of sandy beige and seafoam green evoke the tranquil ambience of the surrounding coastal environment, while plush furnishings and bespoke accents add an air of opulence. The suite is further enhanced by butler service and breathtaking views from two private balconies that overlook the Sunset pool deck.

WW: The hotel features gorgeous art and design objects, including Slim Aarons photography, Murano glass chandeliers, shell-adorned furniture, seashell “tapestries,” a pink marble bar, and more. What’s your favorite touch?

CJ: The pink marble bar in our Palm Bar truly captures our hotel’s design aesthetic and ambience. This striking centerpiece serves as a gathering point for guests to socialize and enjoy expertly crafted cocktails. Three hand-blown coral Murano glass chandeliers custom-designed for Palm House shimmer like jewels, their intricate designs casting a warm, inviting glow throughout the space. Each expertly crafted cocktail is a work of art in itself, making the Palm Bar a vibrant social hub that will quickly become the place to see and be seen in Palm Beach.
