Porsche presents “Capsule Dreamscapes #01 Seoul”, a multi-sensory and immersive exhibition held during Frieze Seoul, running from September 4th to 8th, 2024. This event is the latest in the ongoing “The Art of Dreams” series and marks the beginning of a new chapter in collaboration with the design platform Capsule. The exhibition is co-curated by creative director Alessio Ascari and architect Paul Cournet and takes place at Beizik Studio, a venue situated in the historic Seongsu-dong neighborhood, just a short journey from the heart of Seoul’s art week.
“Capsule Dreamscapes #01 Seoul” brings together an impressive group of international and South Korean artists, including Audrey Large, Théophile Blandet, Ezra Miller, Kwangho Lee, Niceworkshop, Koo Jeong A, and Carsten Höller. These artists and designers have been invited to interpret the surreal potential of dreams and explore the future of craftsmanship through their individual works, ranging from installations to workshops, conversations, and sensory experiences. The exhibition dives into themes of futurism, technology, and the power of the imagination, with each artist creating pieces that embody these visionary ideas.
Unveiling Porsche’s Taycan Turbo K-Edition
Porsche’s participation in this artistic endeavor is further commemorated by the unveiling of the Taycan Turbo K-Edition, a limited-edition version of the brand’s all-electric sports car. This special model celebrates Porsche Korea’s 10th anniversary and is designed with the Korean market in mind. The K-Edition features five rare exterior colors and two distinctive interior designs inspired by Korean culture, history, and craftsmanship. This luxurious, one-of-a-kind car will be a centerpiece of the exhibition, offering a symbol of the intersection between technological innovation and high-end design.
The exhibition is a true reflection of Seoul’s dynamic spirit, a city renowned for its rapid technological advancements while holding fast to its cultural heritage. Artists such as Audrey Large and Théophile Blandet bring forward surreal environments through cutting-edge 3D printing and digital modeling, while Seoul’s own Kwangho Lee and Niceworkshop explore the innovative transformation of materials. Ezra Miller contributes a generative video installation, evoking speed and futurism, and Carsten Höller introduces his participatory Brutalisten kitchen concept. Koo Jeong A’s scent installation, “Odorama Citie” further deepens the sensory experience of the exhibition, making the event a total immersion in both the material and immaterial worlds.
As part of the program, visitors can participate in workshops, engage in conversations about the future of design, and attend listening sessions that push the boundaries of conventional artistic expression. The event provides a platform to reimagine the future of craftsmanship and technology, blending tradition with modernity. The full event schedule, including special sessions led by the participating artists, will unfold over the course of the exhibition.
