LANGE 1 TIME ZONE

Ralph Lauren Awarded The LANGE 1 TIME ZONE

Fleets of classic automobiles made their way to Lake Como, Italy, on Sunday to compete for one of the most coveted trophies in the domain of vintage cars, the A. Lange & Söhne’s one-of-a-kind Lange 1 Time Zone. It was the second year A. Lange & Söhne sponsored the Concorso d’Eleganza, a classic car event that has taken place on the iconic shoreline since 1929.

The winner of the prized watch was not a stranger to luxury design either: US fashion designer Ralph Lauren. He was awarded the jury’s “Best of Show” prize by Lange CEO Wilhelm Schimd, for his Bugatti 57 SC Atlantic Coupé built in 1938. The presentation of the Lange 1 Time Zone was accompanied by a gala dinner at Villa d’Este where guests enjoyed the Mediterranean spring weather and a shared appreciation of timeless elegance.

The Lange 1 Time Zone was described as a “sculpture for the wrist” by Schmid and is a testament to A. Lange & Söhne’s exquisite craftsmanship. The watch boasts two time zones (perfect for a man like Ralph Lauren whose career takes him across the globe) and a white-gold caseback engraved with the Concorso d’Eleganza’s coat of arms. Notably, on the rotatable city ring, Como represents Central European Time in homage to the legendary venue.
