Recess held its annual benefit, Four More Years, on May 28, in celebration of four years of contemporary art to pass through their doors. Free and open to the public, Recess creates a space for artists with ambitious goals to realize their dreams and receive optimum exposure at the same time.
The benefit was held at Le Poisson Rouge and featured a silent auction, artist performances, live music, food, and drink. Two of the performances were installations presented by artists John Miserendino and Zach Gage. The silent auction, hosted in partnership with Paddle8, presented works from several artists including Kalup Linzy and John Kessler. Also included in the auction were a private tour of MoMA and Acconci Studios lead by Vito Acconci himself. Also up for sale was a limited-edition print, created by David Horvitz and Brand X.
