Last night at the Thompson Hotel in Miami Beach, luxury watchmaker Roger Dubuis celebrated their new Velvet Haute Couture collection with an intimate dinner hosted by Jean-Marc Pontroué, Stephanie Seymour and Peter Brant. The event kicked off with Dom Pérignon and canapés in a candle-lit private bungalow before moving poolside, where guests including Geoff Stults, Klaus Biesenbach, and Russell Simmons enjoyed dinner and drinks. The high winds provided some entertainment, when at one point a particularly strong gust blew over a standing candelabra with a bang. An artist was on hand for a lively painting session, in which the gentleman hopped around to techno music while applying broad, seemingly-abstract strokes to the canvas–but wait! He signaled an assistant to turn the canvas 180º and voila, revealed what was in fact a portrait of Stephanie Seymour, who was delighted.
