All this week, we’re covering the EXPO fair and surrounding events in Chicago. To give you an insider look at the city, we’re talking to a few exceptional Chicagoans who are sharing their favorite spots to dine, drink, play, and see art. Up next, we have founder and CEO of Vosges Haut Chocolat, a pioneer in the luxury chocolate industry, Katrina Markoff.
WHERE TO EAT AND SIP
I love Rootstock. It’s intimate, has great cocktails and moody lighting. The burger there is one of the best. Kingston Mines, located in the heart of Chicago’s renowned “Blues Alley” is my favorite Chicago spot for music. The Violet Hour in Wicker Park has the best artisanal cocktails. Parachute is funky and chic and I love their modern Korean-American fare. Z Bar has an incredible view and cocktail menu. We are launching a chocolate and cocktail pairing collection with them. It’s a dream project.
WHERE TO SEE ART:
I wish I was able to get out more. I am very much looking forward to seeing Anna Karenina at The Joffrey Ballet.
WHERE TO HAVE FUN AND RELAX:
My favorite place to relax is at home. I travel so much for work and I am always creating and meeting. Being in my home with my husband and my boys is what refreshes my creativity. I am so inspired by my young boys and I live through their eyes.
