Tuesday night at the 1896 stages in the heart of Bushwick, Brooklyn, the third Soho House’s music and art Satellite Night (its first time in New York City) kicked off to a great start. M.I.A. performed songs from her eagerly awaited new album called Matangi. Artist José Carlos Casado, a recent collaborator with Swatch watches, paid homage to both M.I.A. and the famous Swiss brand through impressive projections of abstract forests.
Alexander Wang, Reggie Watts, The Beastie Boys’ Mike D, Timo Weiland, Venus X, Hood by Air’s $hayne Oliver, Rotin, Party Squad plus many Soho House members and guests attended the satellite night, enjoying special Matangi Margaritas while chilling in the Soho House vintage/modern lounge that was especially set up for the event.
The event was held in partnership with Swatch, Corzo Tequila, Opening Ceremony, and SPIN.
The Soho House’s SATELLITE NIGHTS are Soho House’s exclusive series spotlighting the convergence of music and art from established and emerging artists. The Satellite Nights launched in LA in March 2013 and will roll out in Miami over the next few months. The collaborations between both established and emerging artists build out a unique and truly original experience for Soho House members in new or undiscovered venues in pioneering, creative parts of the city.
