Summer is the season when fashion, art, and hospitality step outdoors. Across coastlines from the Hamptons to the Mediterranean, luxury brands and hotels are transforming boutiques, beach clubs, and waterfront destinations into immersive seasonal experiences that capture the carefree spirit of long days by the sea. Whether it’s discovering contemporary art at Montauk Yacht Club, browsing Chanel‘s summer collections in East Hampton, lounging beneath ETRO‘s signature paisley prints in Sardinia, or soaking up the Riviera at Burberry‘s takeover of Hôtel Belles Rives, each destination offers its own interpretation of summer living. Together, these collaborations celebrate more than beautiful design—they embrace slow afternoons, salty air, golden sunsets, and the joy of gathering outdoors. If your summer itinerary includes the coast, these are the pop-ups and experiences not to miss.
Mary Lou’s Montauk
Montauk, New York

Mary Lou’s Montauk brings a Studio 54 spirit to the Hamptons, transforming the East End into a glamorous summer playground filled with animal prints, bold patterns, and unapologetic maximalism. Following the success of its Palm Beach debut last year, the Montauk outpost blends nostalgic nightlife with contemporary energy, creating a space where sophistication meets playful excess. It’s already become a favorite among stylish regulars, with names like Baby Jane Holzer, Alix Earle, and Tom Brady making appearances.
The season kicked off with performances by Austin Millz, Coco & Breezy, Chromeo, MOONLGHT, and The Castellows, while the culinary lineup is equally enticing with outposts from Sushi by Bou and Arthur & Sons. Inspired by socialite Mary Lou Curtis, the venue reimagines the classic supper club through a modern lens, pairing vintage glamour with an irreverent sense of fun. Equal parts cocktail lounge, live music venue, and late-night destination, Mary Lou’s captures the carefree spirit of summer in Montauk—making it one of the season’s most exciting places to see, be seen, and dance well past sunset.

Along Sardinia’s coastline, Romazzino, A Belmond Hotel, Costa Smeralda, welcomes summer with an elegant pop-up with ETRO, transforming the pool bar and outdoor spaces through the brand’s iconic paisley motifs. Custom textiles drape loungers, cabanas, and shaded terraces, seamlessly weaving ETRO’s signature visual language into the hotel’s timeless architecture.
Set against Costa Smeralda’s crystal-clear emerald waters and sculptural granite rocks, the bespoke fabrics create a striking yet harmonious contrast. A palette of terracotta, beige, and warm brown is balanced with sage green and teal, echoing the natural tones of the Mediterranean landscape.
Rather than competing with its surroundings, the installation enhances them, creating a dialogue between fashion, craftsmanship, and nature. The result is a refined summer retreat where Italian design and coastal living effortlessly meet, inviting guests to slow down and embrace the relaxed elegance that defines both ETRO and the Belmond lifestyle.

Returning to the Hamptons for the season, Chanel has opened a two-story boutique on Newton Lane in East Hampton. Burberry x Hôtel Belles Rives
Antibes, France

The British arrived on the French Riviera this summer as Burberry transformed the beach club and terraces of Hôtel Belles Rives. The storied Art Deco landmark—once frequented by Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway, and F. Scott Fitzgerald—becomes the perfect backdrop for the House’s signature check pattern, reimagined in deep blue across loungers, parasols, the original 1920s elevator, the private jetty, and even the beach club’s doors. Custom details extend throughout the property, creating a takeover that feels thoughtfully woven into the hotel’s historic character rather than imposed upon it.
Summer touches abound, from Burberry-branded ice lollies after a swim in the Mediterranean to sunset aperitifs on the terrace of the Fitzgerald Bar. The pop-up playfully shifts Burberry away from its traditional autumn-and-winter identity, embracing a lighter, more carefree side of the brand. Equal parts Riviera glamour and British heritage, it is a seamless example of fashion meeting hospitality in one of the Côte d’Azur’s most iconic seaside destinations.

Montauk Yacht Club x Platform
Montauk, New York
Joe Henry Baker, “Somewhere You’re Meant To Be,” 2026. Courtesy of the artist and Montauk Yacht Club.
A day at Montauk Yacht Club now comes with an art stop. This summer, the waterfront resort partners with Platform to present a solo exhibition by Brooklyn-based artist Joe Henry Baker, on view July 10–17 during East Hampton’s Art & Design Days.
Baker challenges the traditional boundaries of painting by working on both sides of the canvas, encouraging viewers to experience each work from multiple perspectives. Through layered marks, color, and texture, the material itself becomes an active part of the composition. As the artist explains, “The Inversion series follows a simple formula that results in a never-ending variability in form—the dot sequence is ordered and serene, yet unmeasured and infinite.”
The exhibition’s exploration of light, rhythm, and materiality feels especially at home along Montauk’s coastline. Guests can easily pair a visit with lunch at ALBA Spiaggia, a treatment at ELEMIS Spa‘s pop-up, or a session with the Jamie O’Brien Surf Experience, making art a natural part of a summer day by the water.
