To stave off the feeling of summer ending, we’re indulging in an assortment of vacation-inspired accessories, books, and skincare from Louis Vuitton, Chloé, Anita Ko, Assouline, Ciao Lucia and Margaux, Heidi Zuckerman, Maison H, and Noble Panacea.
Louis Vuitton
By the Pool
Louis Vuitton returns with an iteration of By The Pool—its annual assortment of sumptuous Resort wear. The maison’s signature monogram is seen on compact purses, gold-studded bikinis, cotton-blend tees, and even a high-end artisanal surfboard. Hues range from a stunning Caribbean blue to rich shades of coral and magenta. Bags, shoes, textiles, and accessories feature natural materials, yielding a collection of vacation-ready attire clearly designed with exotic beaches and tropical locales in mind.
Chloé
Bracelet Bag
Designed as a tribute to Phoebe Philo’s iconic Summer 2002 Bracelet bag, Chloé’s reimagined offering is equal parts functional and alluring. A removable hook and strap allow the bag to be worn in three ways: cross-body, over the shoulder, or clutched in hand as an evening-ready statement. The bag is part of creative director Chemena Kamali’s debut with Chloé, marking a clear interest in superimposing the brand’s history onto its modern designs. Between its soft, crescent-shaped leather and mixed gold and silver hardware, these bags toe the line between fluidity and edge with ease.
Anita Ko
New Collection
The Los Angeles-based fine jeweler Anita Ko debuts her latest collection of diamond-studded pieces, comprising floral designs, supersized cigar bands, and statement earrings set in 18-karat gold and silver. Long, thin chains of Hepburn pear-drop diamonds cascade off the ear and pink and blue sapphires make dramatic appearances. Pieces are intended to be layered, stacked, and paired. With the new collection, decadence meets a laid-back coolness, and trendiness is offset with timelessness.
Assouline
Rare Cars: The World’s Most Exclusive Rides
Assouline teamed up with bestselling author and automotive authority A.J. Baime to produce Rare Cars: The World’s Most Exclusive Rides, a book dedicated to the vehicles whose very existence is a work of art. Flipping through the thick, glossy pages, one will find the Toyota 200GT Roadster built for the Bond movie You Only Live Twice; James Dean’s infamous Porsche 550 Spyder; and one of Ralph Lauren’s favorite Ferraris. The book is a love letter to its subject matter: its interior is lined in hand-stitched Italian leather, and the book’s hardcover is lightly scented with an exclusively made rubber-infused essence.
Ciao Lucia x Margaux
Palmero Sandals
In a stunning bicoastal collaboration, the LA-based apparel brand Ciao Lucia has partnered with the New York-based footwear brand Margaux to create the Palmero Sandal. This strappy, summery leather footwear is available in a rich shade of saddle-brown and a perfect pitch-black, offering the perfect shoe for long summer days spent in the sun and even longer nights out on the town. “If you’re a millennial, we all hold a place in our heart for a gladiator sandal,” explained Ciao Lucia designer Lucy Akin. “I think of Sienna Miller, Mischa Barton, and Nicole Richie with their Balenciaga City bags and giant ‘70s sunglasses with complicated sandals on. I loved the challenge of designing something for today’s woman. How do we make this cool again and have that effortless look that both Margaux and Ciao strive for?”
Heidi Zuckerman
Why Art Matters: The Bearable Lightness of Being
Heidi Zuckerman is renowned for her steadfast dedication to modern and contemporary art. Currently, she acts as the CEO of the Orange County Museum of Art (OCMA), yet is known for her longtime work at the Aspen Museum of Art and the Jewish Museum in New York. In her latest title, Why Art Matters: The Bearable Lightness of Being, Zuckerman ruminates on the human condition and what it is that connects us to art. The book is at once a reference guide and a workbook, featuring case studies on specific artworks and a series of personal exercises to prompt rigorous introspection.
Maison H
“Skin” Collection
The Dubai-based jewelry brand Maison H is back with the “Skin” collection, a resplendent assortment of pieces which were meticulously hand-crafted to mimic the appearance of molten gold. Drawing inspiration from the cofounders’ European travels, pieces are available in solid 18-karat gold as well as full pave diamonds; statement rings feature alongside diamond earrings. Notably, every gemstone and precious metal used in Maison H’s creations is ethically sourced.
