Celine’s Haute Parfumerie line launched in 2019 by Hedi Slimane. Most recently, it added a new fragrance to the family named ZouZou, marking the brand’s eleventh scent. Silmane’s inspiration for the new fragrance pays tribute to the heroines of the 1960s who displayed youthfulness and positive recklessness. Acne Studios launched a chic collaboration with Frédéric Malle to create a new fragrance: Acne Studios Par Frédéric Malle. The fragrance was designed by perfumer Suzy Le Helley—who studied at the renowned French perfumery school ISIPCA and the Symrise Perfumery School in Germany—and was sought out due to her construction of new olfactory forms from familiar materials in perfumery. With Malle and Helley’s specialties in perfumery combined, Acne Studios Par Frédéric Malle captures a singular allure of Aldehydes with floral notes of violets and roses.

On June 20, Fendi launched its first-ever line of fragrances designed by its perfumery team: Anne Flipo, Quentin Bisch, and Fanny Bal. Each perfume in the collection of seven gained inspiration from one of the many outstanding personalities of the founding Fendi family—including Prima Terra, Perché No, Sempre Mio, Ciao Amore, Dolce Bacio, Casa Grande, and La Baguette.“The fragrance collection tells the story of FENDI from another point of view. It expresses the essence of the maison in a different way, by telling its story in a different language. Today, at FENDI, we can readily say that we have explored and used all the senses,” said Silvia Venturini Fendi.

Byredo

Mojave Ghost

Byredo’s creative director and founder, Ben Gorham, revist’s the journey of Mojave Ghost to mark the 10th anniversary of its launch. Originating in 2014, Mojave Ghost has been portrayed into three chapters of the family and gained inspiration from the untamed beauty of the landscape in the Mojave Desert. The fragrance captures the temperament of the desert into a celebration of the adaptive resilience that finds everlasting beauty. For the 10th anniversary, Gorham commemorates Mojave Ghost by creating a limited edition version. In this variation, the perfume concentrated on capturing the same olfactory notes with a wax base to perform a long lasting finish. “Mojave Ghost had no set parameters from the start. It wasn’t about rigid definitions. It emerged from a flower, a place and a narrative — an exploration of emotion rather than fixed raw materials,” said Gorham.

During Paris Fashion Week this past spring, the beauty brand COTY debuted its first in-house collection of fragrances, “INFINIMENT COTY PARIS.” The suite of 14 scents marks the house’s 120th anniversary and was created by co-founders Sue Nabi and Nicolas Vu. The collection of scents includes Entre Genres, which is rooted in musk; Soleil d’Ikosim, which is full of orange blossom and sweetness; Matin de Jade, with notes of ginger and tea; and Encore Une Fois, boasting amber and vanilla. Nabi and Vu, who previously worked together on the skincare company Orveda, were inspired by their African and Asian heritages, respectively, reminiscing on childhood moments of joy and wonder. Each scent in the collection is encapsulated in a refillable and stackable bottle—“artcycling,” as they describe it—accentuated with a spherical top.
