Last night, The Brooklyn Museum held the seventh annual Brooklyn Artists Ball. Over 1200 people were in attendance celebrating this years honorees, museum Trustee Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys. The artist-focused benefit raised over $1.7 million.
Decked-out in blue, on theme with the exhibition “Infinite Blue,” guests included Lenny Kravitz, David Byrne, Janet Mock, Fred (Fab 5 Freddy) Brathwaite, Sarah Jones, Maxwell, Kelsey Lu, Anja Rubik, Eric Adams, Jeanne Greenberg Rohatyn, Dustin Yellin, Marilyn Minter, Mickalene Thomas, Hank Willis Thomas, Stephen (ESPO) Powers, Swoon, KAWS, Derrick Adams, Timothy Curtis, Adam Fuss, Stephanie and Tim Ingrassia, Beth Rudin DeWoody, Shelby White, and Andrew Cogan. The museum’s director Anne Pasternak was joined by the night’s event chairs Sarah Arison, Henry Elsesser, Miyoung Lee, and Carla Shen.
The night included cocktails in the lobby, beauty appointments at the artist Swoon‘s “Pearly Beauty Shop,” Polaroid photo-ops with Philip Leeds, and a dinner performance by singer and cellist Kelsey Lu. Afterwards, KAWS hosted a dance party with music by DJ Runna and Swizz Beatz.
