Kohler ushered in Miami Art Week with a shimmering celebration marking the debut of its new Pearlized finish. Held on the terrace of The Miami Beach EDITION, the gathering fused design innovation with playful, sensory detail. Guests reveled in bespoke cocktails and a spirited set by DJ Nikki Kynard, while artist Maayan Zimmerman surprised attendees with intricate shell-inspired candy rings that echoed the iridescent theme. VIP figures—including photographer Douglas Friedman, designer Harry Nuriev, and creative Colm Dillane—joined the celebration, underscoring the brand’s longstanding connection to the design community. Created in collaboration with artist David Franklin, the Pearlized finish is showcased within Underlight, a striking installation designed by Nuriev and featured at the Design Miami fair. Artist Marco Brambilla opened Miami Art Week with the revealing of After Utopia, a monumental three-channel video installation presented by The Wolfsonian–FIU and co-hosted by Golden Goose. The piece perfectly fuses world’s fair pavilions from 1889 to 2025 using AI, constructing a hypnotic digital realm brought to life by historical visitor data. Continuing the artist’s fascination with spectacle and simulation, the work expands on earlier projects such as the Times Square installation Approximations of Utopia and the Golden Goose HAUS Marghera installation Altered States. The evening invited guests to enjoy a singular Golden Goose Co-Creation activation with Dream Makers screen-printed posters energized by the exhibition. A distinguished audience—from Ellen von Unwerth to Sarah Morris and Sam Keller—gathered to revel in Brambilla’s exploration of memory, technology, and human belief systems, marking the installation as a key cultural highlight of the week.

Sukeban, the iconic Japanese women’s pro-wrestling league, returned to Miami Art Week with a riveting performance at the Miami Beach Bandshell. Blending athleticism, performance art, and fashion, the event unfolded with spectacular energy—featuring extravagant costumes designed by Olympia Le-Tan, original anime illustrations by Tuesday, and high-impact beauty details by celebrity nail artist Mei Kawajiri and makeup artist Romero Jennings. The main event pitted Ichigo Sayaka against Atomic Banshee for a championship belt designed by industrial visionary Marc Newson, revealed in a bespoke trunk crafted by Le-Tan and Katie Hillier. A soundtrack by DJ ecec and star-powered cameos enriched the theatrical atmosphere, while a Japanese-style street fair brought local flavor to the night. As a fusion of storytelling, cultural homage, and creative rebellion—rooted in the history of 1960s–70s Sukeban girl gangs—the event cemented its reputation as one of the most anticipated spectacles of the week.
