The I.C.E. St. Moritz 2025 Dazzles with Iconic Cars and Timeless Style

The I.C.E. St. Moritz 2025, held on February 21 and 22, was nothing short of a triumph, celebrating the art of motoring with an unparalleled display of elegance, passion, and history.

Once again, the frozen lake of St. Moritz was transformed into a breathtaking stage for one of the most exclusive and sophisticated automotive events in the world. The I.C.E. St. Moritz 2025, held on February 21 and 22, was nothing short of a triumph, celebrating the art of motoring with an unparalleled display of elegance, passion, and history. This year’s edition broke records and reaffirmed its standing as an unmissable rendezvous for collectors, enthusiasts, and connoisseurs alike. Beneath a radiant alpine sky, 52 of the most iconic classic and sports cars glided across the glistening ice, captivating over 20,000 visitors from across the globe. This unprecedented attendance highlighted the international appeal of The I.C.E., drawing together a refined crowd of motoring aficionados, artists, and cultural enthusiasts who shared in the singular magic of the event.

The origins of The I.C.E. St. Moritz date to January 1985, when British competitors from the legendary Cresta Run skeleton race marked its centenary by driving vintage Bentley tourers onto the frozen lake. Among them was auto-brand manager Marco Makaus, who saw in the moment the seed of an idea—an event merging automotive heritage with the magic of winter and the elegance of St. Moritz. Over the decades, his vision gained momentum, securing backing from the St. Moritz municipality, Badrutt’s Palace, and major sponsors. A preview took place in 2019, offering a glimpse of what was to come. After a pandemic-induced pause, The I.C.E. officially launched in February 2022, quickly ascending to the ranks of the world’s most prestigious automotive events.

As the sun began its descent behind the peaks, the pinnacle of the event arrived—the presentation of the prestigious Best in Show award. This year, the accolade was bestowed upon the stunning Bugatti Type 59 (1934), recognized for its striking elegance and historical significance. The award, specially designed for The I.C.E. St. Moritz by the legendary architect Lord Norman Foster, was presented by Foster himself, alongside Tilly Harrison, managing director of Richard Mille Middle East and Turkey.

A defining moment of the event was the presentation of the Spirit of St. Moritz award, which was conferred upon the Ferrari 250 GT SWB “Sefac” (1961), a symbol of style and performance. This honor was both designed and personally presented by Rolf Sachs, the internationally renowned artist and designer whose deep connection to St. Moritz has been crucial in shaping its cultural identity. Celebrated for his ability to merge tradition with contemporary design, Sachs defines the town’s unique spirit of elegance and innovation. His presence reinforced The I.C.E.’s celebration of craftsmanship, heritage, and artistic excellence.

Meanwhile, spectators had their say in the Hero Below Zero award, bestowing the honor upon the legendary Lamborghini Miura SV (1972), a car that has long embodied the perfect marriage of aesthetics and engineering prowess.
