The Parrish Art Museum Midsummer Party

No contributor

Last Saturday, July 11, the Parrish Art Museum held its annual fundraising gala at the Herzog & de Meuron-designed building in Water Mill, Southampton. Coinciding with the festivities of Art Southampton over the weekend, artists, collectors, entertainers, philanthropists, and others flocked to the event. Artists like Tara Donovan, Donald Lipski, and Keith Sonnier were in attendance alongside hoteliers Gale & Ira Drukier and director of Art Southampton Nick Korniloff. Whitewall’s special Hamptons Issue, featuring interviews with Chuck Close, museum director Terrie Sultan, and Ross Bleckner, debuted at the summer soirée.

During cocktail hour, guests viewed exhibitions of the permanent collection, “Chuck Close Photographs,” and Donovan’s site-specific Slinkys sculptures. For the dinner, Ron Wendt designed a summer white and greenery-filled décor and tablescape, which perfectly complimented the flavors of Cheng Catering & Events. The afterparty, which went to the early morning hours, featured the music of DJ Coleman.
