Toasting to Partida Tequila and Alejandro Vigilante

By Whitewall

October 30, 2015

On Wednesday, October 28, Partida Tequila celebrated its project, Partida Lotería, with artist Alejandro Vigilante at the Soho Arts Club in New York.

For Partida Lotería, Vigilante created a bright body of work inspired by the traditional Mexican card game of Lotería (similar to bingo but instead, using a deck of cards). The artist depicted Latin cultural imagery—the Mexican flag, an eagle, a soccer ball, a guitar, skulls, and even the Partida bottle and a lime—in pops of color, all displayed in a gridded installation at the Soho Arts Club (which has its own bit of Pop history, as it was the former Soho residence of Andy Warhol).

Whitewall was there, along with guests enjoying cocktails of the ultra-premium tequila while indulging in savory bites and testing their luck with the new, vibrant take on Lotería. Vigilante was on hand, as well, who told us earlier that, “Color is also a huge part of the work I do. Color is life. To be associated with Partida is an honor for me, it’s a perfect soulmate.” The artist was toasted to by Partida’s owner, and CEO Gary Shansby, who said, “We’re very excited to bring the life and colors of Mexico to the U.S. with Partida Lotería.”

The artistic partnership also resulted in a variety of public media and posters around downtown New York this past month, with Wednesday’s event culminating a collaboration that blended the flavor, color, energy, authenticity, and artisanship of Mexico.

Partida Tequila (www.partidatequila.com) is an authentic, all-natural, ultra-premium Tequila, made from 100% blue agave in the Tequila Valley, the heart of Mexico’s historic Tequila region. From cultivation and harvest to cooking, distillation and aging, Partida Tequila maintains exceptional standards of quality and consistency. F. Paul Pacult, the leading spirits authority in America, recently rated Partida Reposado as the best Tequila in the world, and one of the top five spirits in the world. Noted spirits expert Robert Plotkin calls Partida “sublime” and “one of the finest tequilas ever made.” Tequila Partida produces four distinctive Tequilas: Blanco (not aged), Reposado (aged six months), Añejo (aged 18 months) and Elegante (aged 36 — 40 months). Partida is distributed in Mexico and nationally in the US.
