Van Cleef & Arpels this week, on the first day of spring, previewed its new “Frivole” collection in New York. Greeted by bright yellow florals hanging from the building’s façade, inside we saw the newest pieces offered a welcome dose of springtime, despite the weather outside.
The new collection was comprised of florals—delicate pieces featuring one small flower holding a single diamond, while others featured a cluster of petals and several diamonds, or pave versions. We got a glance at items like the 18K yellow gold ring with a single diamond, and its pave style, and accompanying necklaces, earrings, and bracelets.

In addition to the Frivole collection, we were treated to vintage jewels, to our delight. Tucked in the back, we saw The Cadenas watch from 1935, originally designed by the Duchess of Windsor, with its iconic peekaboo face and bejeweled ruby details. We also noticed a few of the brand’s iconic “Between the Finger” rings, featuring a style with two butterflies and one with two birds.
Before exiting, we sampled a refreshing tea, and some lavender honey atop thin pastries and figs—an exceptional offering by Sant Ambroeus.
