Last night, Ian Schrager and W magazine editor in chief Stefano Tonchi hosted a bash to celebrate the launch of the new Miami Beach EDITION and the publication’s art issue. After a variety of dinners around town, guests gathered for dessert and cocktails by Absolut on a very windy outdoor patio by the beach, that required metal happy-face tokens to enter (for what reason, we are still unsure).
The DJ kept the hits popping to an appreciative, albeit windswept crowd that included Linda Evangelista, Lola Schnabel, Marina Abramovic, David Maupin, Rachel Lehmann, Bill Powers, Cynthia Rowley, Lisa Phillips, Gavin Brown, Glenn Pushelberg, George Yabu, Hope Atherton, China Chow, Ryan McGinley, Tracey Emin, Hans Ulrich-Obrist, Yvonne Force Villareal, Casey Fremont Crowe, Ambra Medda, Mickalene Thomas, Justin Lowe, Jonah Freeman, and Kehinde Wiley.

Later, everyone moved to the basement nightclub-turned-Miami-outpost of the Parisian spot Silencio. Tunes by DJ Harvey provided the soundtrack to much dancing, bowling, and even an ice show.
Looking at our schedule for the rest of the week, EDITION is shaping up to be the place to be after-hours.
