The Best Hotels in Paris, from Artful Interiors to the Ultimate Luxury Experiences

Whether you’re visiting the City of Lights this fall or planning an upcoming vacation, you’ll want to save Whitewall’s list of best hotels in Paris. Here, we’re sharing details on the accommodations at The Four Seasons George V, Maison Proust, Brach Hotel, and more.

Maison Proust

The lavish interiors of Maison Proust combine Parisian elegance with the finest design elements that represent the life of famed writer Marcel Proust. Nestled in the heart of Le Marais, the accommodations encompass 23 rooms and suites, a bar, a library, a winter garden, and Spa La Mer, which features a swimming pool, a hammam, and two treatment rooms. The Paris hotel has been outfitted at the hands of Jacques Garcia, who has conceived different design concepts for different areas, all centered on the author’s life and creative universe. Floors one to three look to the personalities of Parisian life, floor four focuses on Impressionists, the fifth-floor design has been inspired by different writers, while the sixth floor looks to Proust’s own apartments.

Whitewaller recommends: Paying attention to the hotel’s art collection, which includes work by Jacques-Emile Blanche, Giovanni Boldini, Léon Bonnat, Jean Cocteau, and an autographed copy of Proust’s Swann’s Side.

Brach Hotel

The Philippe Starck-designed Brach Hotel is a modern romantic marvel where facets of art and luxury converge for a unique, inviting stay. Warm wood and raw materials like leather, glass, marble, and concrete are seen throughout the Paris hotel, which boasts options like multiple dining options, a bar, a renowned patisserie, a sports club (featuring a pool, sauna, and salt cave), and the Spa by Clarins, featuring an array of signature treatments. The Brach’s 59 rooms and 7 suites are outfitted with amenities like terraces, jacuzzis, and views of the Eiffel Tower.

Whitewaller recommends: Taking advantage of programming, services, and amenities like group exercise classes, private coaching sessions, dietician consultations, limousine service, pet care, and books available for on-site reading.

Four Seasons Hotel George V

Those in search of a classic luxury stay should look no further than the Four Seasons Hotel George V, situated in a 1928 art-deco landmark building just off the historic Champs-Elysees. Visitors can choose from a selection of guestrooms, suites, and signature suites, all of which feature light, airy interiors, crystal lighting fixtures, around-the-clock room service, and luxury bath products. Those who book at this Paris chapter of the Four Seasons Hotel can expect to find an elegant spa complete with a pool, fitness center, and full-service salon, as well as some of the best food and beverage options the city has to offer—including a bar, an all-day dining room and multiple Michelin-starred establishments like L’Orangerie, Le George, and Le Cinq. The latter has earned its three stars for one of the best French gastronomic experiences in Paris.

Whitewaller recommends: Booking a day trip to Perrier-Jouët’s Maison Bell Époque, exclusive to guests at the hotel, which offers a tour of the grounds, lunch in the garden, a visit to the champagne vineyard, then dinner back at the hotel by Chef Alan Taudon.

La Fantaisie

Guests will find their stay at the Paris hotel La Fantaisie is even more enchanting than its name suggests, from its charming location in the Faubourg Montmartre neighborhood down to every last fixture and throw pillow in the carefully-curated interiors. Conceived by Martin Brudnizki, the hotel’s 63 rooms and 10 suites feature a retro-modern brilliance with colorful upholstery, vases of fresh flowers, and views of the city or the garden below. Meanwhile, the hotel’s common areas and eateries (like Dominique Crenn’s Golden Poppy restaurant or the whimsical spa) have been outfitted in a delectable more-is-more aesthetic with an inviting aura, featuring pairings like florals and striped wallpaper, velvet and wicker seating, and a selection of beautiful art.

Whitewaller recommends: Taking in the views from the full garden and the rooftop bar.

Le Grand Contrôle

For those willing to venture outside of city limits for the sake of exceptional accommodations, Le Grand Contrôle is the ultimate stop. Located on the grounds of the Palace of Versailles, the hotel’s historic architecture and unprecedented grandeur are one and the same. Originally built in 1681 by Jules Hardouin-Mansart,the building today maintains an authentic period look. It offers 13 of the most opulent rooms and suites imaginable, each artfully outfitted by Maison Pierre Frey with its own design, furnishings, art, and objects. In addition to the magnificent grounds and gardens, which are open for guests to stroll at their leisure, the hotel is home to a culinary experience worthy of royalty, headed by chef Alain Ducasse, who is the recipient of 21 Michelin stars.

Whitewaller recommends: Partaking in exclusive experiences like after-hours tours of the palace, a dinner for two with a string quartet, or living a day like Marie-Antoinette—which includes an in-room costume fitting, a special treatment at Spa Valmont, and dinner at the queen’s favorite location.
