Last Saturday, Whitewall and Paul Kasmin Gallery hosted an event to celebrate Erik Parker’s design for Whitewall‘s spring 2014 Art Issue cover. Parker created a vibrant, colorful cover that showcased one of his paintings in our signature square, expanding beyond the border with a yellow gradient and shark fin border motif. It just may be our favorite yet! And it certainly helped us feel like spring was in the air, despite the polar vortex temperatures that prevailed all Armory Arts Week.
Saturday night wasn’t the coldest night of the week (in the 40s!), however, so guests at Ceylan Ecer‘s loft in Chelsea where the cocktail was held were able to sip Billecart-Salmon champagne and nibble on cheeses while mingling on the outdoor terrace.

Parker was there, personally signing and drawing on copies of the issue for guests like Joe Thiel, KAWS, Carter Cleveland, Shelter Serra, Grimanesa Amoros, and Antoine Verglas. A few were even so bold as to ask for extra signed issues for their friends and loved ones.
