WHERE TO EAT AND SIP
RENÉE, a hip location to check out live music, has the best DJs in Basel. Rhyschänzli Buvette has delicious veggie burgers and hamburgers, the perfect place for a meal, post– swim in the Rhine. Zum Goldenen Fass—always get the surprise menu. It’s a three-course menu prepared by the chef, new every day.
WHERE TO SEE ART
My favorite museum is the Beyeler Museum. It has incredible exhibitions on view and their surrounding grounds are just gorgeous. I am most excited to see Vitra Design Museum’s exhibition “Night Fever: Designing Club Culture 1960–Today.” It’s the first large-scale examination of the relationship between club culture and design.

WHERE TO HAVE FUN AND RELAX
I really enjoy sailing. When I find time to unwind, you can find me sailing to a quiet, tropical location to enjoy the sun, water, and surrounding nature. Otherwise, during fair week, I love joining the Basel crowd and floating down the Rhine. It’s the best on a hot summer Basel evening.

WHERE TO EAT AND SIP
One of my favorite restaurants is the Wiischänk zuem Dülliger Schnägg in Lörrach, Germany, very close to Basel. In springtime, they have the best asparagus! Another one is the Wiesengarten Musetti, with delicious Italian food. It is close to the Fondation Beyeler in Riehen, and sometimes I go for lunch there.
WHERE TO SEE ART
Our current exhibition, “Bacon – Giacometti,” is definitely a must-see—and I mean this personally, not only as the co-curator of the exhibition. Besides, the Schaulager is at the moment presenting an extraordinary exhibition about Bruce Nauman.
WHERE TO HAVE FUN AND RELAX
One of the best spots to relax is St. Chrischona, the highest mountain around Basel. If the weather is nice, you can sit up there and enjoy a beautiful view on the Alps.
