For EXPO Chicago 2018 (September 27–30), we’re providing an online edition of Whitewaller. For those traveling to the city for both art and fun, we’re sharing tips on where to see art, eat, sip, stay, and shop. Below, we’re sharing two stores not to miss—and they won’t break the bank!
COS
In June, COS opened its first Chicago-based location on Oak Street—a 5,700-square-foot space with menswear, menswear, and children’s clothing. The brand, dedicated to exploring natural materials, organic shapes, and modern classics, welcomes shoppers with a clean, new collection and interior design to match. Natural elements, grey tones, and a “blank canvas” type of backdrop provides an open plan for a wardrobe railing system and lounge area. There, guests can marvel and relax on furniture by Eames, Wegner, and Finn Juhl.

Whitewaller recommends: Trying on the innovative thermoreactice jacket from the Fall 2018 collection—a titanium grey piece that changes colors to the wearer’s body temperature.
Robin Richman
In 1997, Robin Richman opened at the North End of Bucktown to welcome guests to artisanal labels from Europe and Asia. Beyond a shopping experience, the store greets visitors to a gallery-style setting with creative and inviting displays of attire, accessories, and objects of art.
