Whitewaller Dallas 2018 Insiders: Kristen Cole and Nancy Rogers

In town for the Dallas Art Fair and wondering where to go, what to see, and what to eat? Below, we hear from philanthropist and investor, Nancy Rogers, and president and chief creative officer of Forty Five Ten and Tenoversix, Kristen Cole, on some of their favorites.

WHERE TO EAT AND SIP
For lunch, I typically head to Mint, Le Bilboquet, Parigi, and José on Lovers. I truly love Grange Hall, where you can shop for exquisite finds after a delicious meal. For dinner, I highly recommend the newly opened Bullion, Sachet on Oaklawn, Uchi, Shinsei, and Sassetta in the Design District. Boulevardier in Bishop Arts is not to be missed!

WHERE TO SEE ART
I’m obsessed with Yayoi Kusama’s “Infinity Mirror Room” currently installed at the DMA, and beyond excited about the upcoming Laura Owens exhibition as well. I have a soft spot for Dallas Contemporary and my dear friends Cindy and Howard Rachofsky’s collection at The Warehouse.

WHERE TO HAVE FUN AND RELAX
Honestly, my favorite place is the clubroom in our home, where we spend endless evenings with family and friends. However, I do love the Statler Hotel. The breakfast there is amazing and you can sit on the rooftop patio until sunset, sipping your favorite libation.

WHERE TO EAT AND SIP
I love Sassetta for dinner and Midnight Rambler for drinks. Eating there while admiring Daniel Arsham’s Moving Figure is a treat. Of course, my husband collaborated on the design of these spaces, so I’m a bit biased.

WHERE TO SEE ART
Dallas has quite the burgeoning arts community, so it’s hard to edit the list. Two x Two for AIDS and Art is a favorite—an awesome auction for a great cause. The Power Station is a very compelling space that presents truly unique exhibitions—we sell their catalogues at Tenoversix. Every time I’m in town, I make sure to visit the new shows at the Nasher Sculpture Center and the permanent collection at the Dallas Museum of Art.

WHERE TO HAVE FUN AND RELAX
Retail has always relaxed and energized me—Forty Five Ten, Tenoversix, and Traffic Los Angeles are my spots for shopping fun. The Joule Hotel has been my home away from home for years, so it’s always a special place for me.
