Welcome to the 2024 edition of Whitewaller Miami. We are happy to be back, as always, for the last hurrah of the art season in sunny Miami Beach. It is such a pleasure to have the wonderful Sarah Arison, president of the Arison Arts Foundation, back as our guest editor for another issue, along with a longtime cover partner, YoungArts.
In these pages, you’ll find all you need to know about the fairs—Art Basel Miami Beach, Design Miami, NADA, and Untitled Art—you won’t want to miss. There are also details on the incredible exhibitions taking place around town, like at The Bass, PAMM, El Espacio 23, ICA Miami, the Rubell Museum, MOCA North Miami, Nina Johnson, and so many more. The Miami Design District continues to evolve, with new public art spaces, new shops, restaurants, and bars. And be sure to check out our updated list of restaurants, hotels, and lounges in our lifestyle pages—Miami has one of the best culinary scenes in the country with new sites and tastes opening up each season.
You’ll find in-depth interviews with artists who are celebrating Miami homecomings this winter, like José Parlá at PAMM and Rachel Feinstein at The Bass. The ICA Miami is hosting a number of artists’ first U.S. museum shows, like Lucy Bull and Ding Shilun.
Making this issue of Whitewaller even more essential is our curated group of Miami Insiders. Hear from Israel Aretxiga, Aaron Levi Garvey, Raheem Sealey, Patricia Bonaldi, and Paul Bishop of Miami’s best-kept secrets.
Be sure to collect all 13 of our covers around town. And make sure to say “hi” when you see us at the fairs! Download the issue HERE.
