Go inside the worlds of art, fashion, design, and lifestyle.
If you’re heading to the Côte d’Azur region this summer, you’ll surely need a place to stay. Below, you’ll find our Whitewaller Riviera 2019 list of luxurious spots to enjoy while away.
Hôtel Lou Pinet
Opened last month in Saint-Tropez is Hôtel Lou Pinet—a property by Maisons Pariente that invigorates the spirit of its surrounding with bohemian charm and a distinctive identity. 34 guest bedrooms are complemented by a secret garden, a spa, an emerald green swimming pool, and Beefbar—the hotel’s exceptional restaurant by Riccardo Giraudi. Guests can marvel at the gorgeous Mediterranean landscape outside tended to by Jean Mus, and inside, artworks by Benjamin Navet, Renaud Allirand, Ludovic Philippon, Isabelle Beraut, Naoki Kawano, and Kat Klerks.
Whitewaller recommends: Start your morning with a yoga class, followed by indulging in the Lou Pinet Signature Facial at the spa.
Château La Coste
Just as much an arts center as it is a home away from home, Château La Coste greets visitors to a dynamic experience. Here, between the historical city of Aix-En-Provence and the Luberon National Park, visitors can eat, drink, and sleep among some of the world’s most famous artworks. Spanning 500 acres, the property shines with 30 major contemporary artworks (by artists like Louise Bourgeois, Sean Scully, Alexander Calder, Tracey Emin, Jenny Holzer, jean-Michel Othoniel, and Jean Prouvé), a gastronomic restaurant by Gérald Passedat, an art center conceived by Tadao Ando, and Villa La Coste (including 28 villa suites, a spa, a library, and a bar). At each corner of the property—whether sun-drenched and invigorating, or shaded and calm—guests are encouraged to dream, to be inspired, and to savor the moment.
Whitewaller recommends: Explore the biodynamic vineyard and cellar (designed by Jean Nouvel) to learn why its excellent winemaking reputation is internationally acclaimed.
