Last night, The Whitney Museum of American Art held its annual Gala and Studio Party which raised $5.1 million. Honoring Whitney Trustee Neil G. Bluhm, the evening sponsored by Audi and Michael Kors included a dinner with remarks by director Adam D. Weinberg and a performance by the Chris Norton Big Band Jazz.
Joining Weinberg, Chief Curator Scott Rothkopf, WMAA Curators Donna De Salvo, Chrissie Iles, Barbara Haskell, and Biennial Curators Mia Locks & Christopher Lew, were Gala co-chairs Leslie Bluhm and David Helfand, Nancy and Steve Crown, Jenny Brorsen and Rich DeMartini, Andi and Jim Gordon, Soledad and Bob Hurst, Brooke Garber Neidich and Daniel Neidich and Laurie M. Tisch.

After a memorable meal by Union Square Events, the Studio Party kicked off with music by DJs Sam French and Kitty Kash, a performance by Ravi Shavi, and drinks that included custom brews by one of the biennial artists, John Riepenhoff. Co-chairs included Ruby Aldridge, Isha Ambani, Gabriel-Kane Day-Lewis, Drena De Niro, Sophia Macks, and Paul Sevigny, alongside a Benefit Committee made up of Lucas Beaufort, Jon & Alessandra Neidich, Laura de Gunzburg, Pari Ehsan, Logan Horne, Pamela Katz, Richie Shazam Khan, Vashtie Kola, Tina Leung, Harris Markowitz, Roya Sachs, Olga Rei & Valentine Uhovski, and Lawrence Van Hagen.
