WHERE TO EAT
I have a tradition of stopping at Michael’s Genuine Food and Drink in the Design District for lunch when I first arrive in Miami. It is lovely to sit outside and enjoy the climate—a transition to the city on the way from the airport.
WHERE TO SIP
The Bar & Courtyard at The Setai hotel is the perfect place to unwind with a cocktail, and the rooftop bar at the 1 Hotel South Beach is not to be missed for a drink at sunset.
WHERE TO SEE ART
The Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), Rubell Family Collection, ICA Miami, NADA, Untitled, INK Miami, and the de la Cruz Collection. I always try to attend the breakfast at Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation (CIFO) on the Friday morning of the fair, and as I love design of all eras, and modernism in general, the Wolfsonian-FIU is a special favorite.
WHERE TO HAVE FUN
There is little more enjoyable than looking at art, especially when running into friends and colleagues from different parts of the world at the same time. It’s the random discoveries and encounters that make my day.
WHERE TO RELAX
I do make a point of walking along the ocean every morning before I head out for the day.
TOP SHOWS TO SEE IN MIAMI
I’m looking forward to: “One Day on Success Street,” a major survey dedicated to German artist Thomas Bayrle at ICA Miami; Ulla von Brandenburg’s large scale installation at PAMM; and Art Basel’s Public sector in Collins Park.
