“X” Marks The Spot: Valextra’s Tripartite Collection

Luxury leather brand Valextra unleashed its tripartite fall/winter 2016 collection as part of its “Unbuttoned” project. The Milan-based company, known for its minimalism and understated branding, combines boldness and discretion, saturated colors and fine outlines, in a sophisticated collection for morning, night, or formal evenings.

The first part of the collection features classic Valextra handbags reimagined in black, with bright yellow velvet interiors creating a secret sunburst. The second part inverts these monochrome pieces, crossing each with an intarsia inlay to mark an “X” – a distinct yet subtle signature. Last, the company introduces brilliant reds, blues, and oranges, paired with colorful buttons designed by Martino Gamper. Bright and iconic, the magnetic buttons feature natural resin and galalith to add a pop art glitz to Valextra’s elegantly understated collection.
