The latest immersive experience from ARTECHOUSE, “Aṣẹ: Afro Frequencies,” features a collaboration with the artist Vince Fraser exploring the idea of aṣẹ—a West African concept surrounding our power to produce change. Looking at the Black experience through Fraser’s Afro-surrealist lens, the multimedia presentation encompasses aspects of art, sound, and technology, including a collaboration with Ursula Rucker, whose words accompany Fraser’s heritage-driven visuals, often inspired by African masks. Fraser’s work for the exhibition follows a recent collaboration on extended reality experience titled We Rise Above, accessible to anyone using a smartphone through the ARTECHOUSE app.
