The 2025 Dallas Art Fair (April 10–13) is approaching in the Lone Star state. For those attending this year’s iteration, Whitewall shares a list of its top restaurants and bars to check out while in town—from CARBONE VINO, José, and Lucia to time-tested classics like Le Bilboquet, CBD Provisions, Nobu, and more.
CARBONE VINO
Design District

Adjacent to Major Food Group’s iconic destination, Carbone, is CARBONE VINO—the brand’s latest concept centered around fine wine and insatiable food pairings. Inside, guests can expect to immerse themselves in the brand’s recognizable Ken Fulk-designed ambiance while enjoying pasta, pizza, seasonal dishes, and more. From Monday to Thursday, the space invites visitors to indulge in drink and food pairings, from Aperol Spritzes and zesty Calabrian Margaritas to Whipped Truffle Ricotta, Tuna Crudo, and Salumi Boards.
What we love: Ordering dessert—the daily house-made gelati or the Maraschino Sundae.
José
Lovers/Inwood

At José, Executive Chef Anastacia Quiñones-Pittman brings unforgettable flavor to an array of dishes inspired by Mexico’s cultural and culinary scenes. Highlighted on the plate are the country’s food, spirits, and art, exemplified by a menu of seasonal dishes, including aguachilé, ceviche, heirloom masa, and tacos, and more. The restaurant is named after the renowned Guadalajara-based artist, José Noe Suro, and features Suro’s ceramic works throughout the space. From tableware and furnishings to the expansive mural wall, created in collaboration with Dallas-based designer and artist Megan Reinhardt, depicts memories from Guadalajara and Tequila.
What we love: Enjoying the Tacos de Tacha—a daily special, which was featured in Netflix’s “Taco Chronicles” show.
Tatsu
Deep Ellum

The intimate dining space of the Michelin-starred restaurant Tatsu is an intentional blend of Japanese hospitality and the art of Edomae sushi. Here, guests can find a collection of seasonal dishes curated by Executive Chef and Owner Tatsuya Sekiguchi served omakase style. One or two appetizers join thirteen to fifteen pieces of nigiri-style sushi, a hand roll, miso soup, and dessert. The restaurant offers two seatings five nights a week, with each meal lasting around two hours.

Lucia
Bishop Arts District

Served in rustic space dating back to the 1920s, Lucia is known for its cozy Italian fare. The award-winning restaurant is owned by the husband and wife team, David and Jennifer Uygur, featuring handmade pasta, hand-cured salumi, fbreade made in-house daily, and more. Nominated for the James Beard award for the country’s Outstanding Restaurant, it holds a reputation as one of the hardest reservations to snag in town.

Mister Charles
Knox/Henderson

Spearheaded by Duro Hospitality, Mister Charles is a restaurant and bar located in the former Highland Park Soda Fountain Building. With a menu featuring takes on French and Italian dishes, a selection of elevated cocktails and rare wines are also offered, bringing flavor to the interior’s insatiable design.
What we love: Sharing all of the sides with your dinner companions.
El Carlos Elegante
Design District

El Carlos Elegante, also led by Duro Hospitality, is an unforgettable space inspired by Mexico City. Open exclusively for dinner, the eatery highlights authentic Latin cooking traditions and techniques through wood-fired meats and fish. With an extensive ceviche and crudo selection, house-made tortillas, and masa-based dishes, the menu also features seasonal craft cocktails, wine, beer, and an unforgettable Mezcal program.
What we love: Hosting a private dining experience on the back patio, which can seat 34 guests.
Georgie
Knox/Henderson

Georgie is an upscale restaurant led by Chef RJ Yoakum and rooted in tradition. By combining fine dining with a retail butcher shop, the restaurant provides a nod to tradition and dedication to exceptional hospitality. Guests can enjoy special twists on classics like seafood, steak, rotisserie chicken, and pasta.
What we love: Enjoying a pre-dinner cocktail at the bar.
Le Bilboquet
Knox

Le Bilboquet—a French bistro, joining sister locations Knox Bistro and Georgie—is a European-esque escape from the bustle of Dallas. With a garden room and two options for private dining, guests can enjoy grass-fed meat options, seafood, desserts, and delectable wines.
What we love: Spending a special occasion here.
Midnight Rambler
Downtown

Located at The Joule hotel, Midnight Rambler is a 77-seat cocktail bar open until 2 a.m. daily. Midnight Rambler offers a brass bar with stools, a few small tables, and a leather couch seating area, decorated with edgy Dallas details like tile floors, gritty photography, wooden ceilings, and dim lights for a 1960s cinematic feel.
What we love: Sipping the Alex Chilton cocktail.
CBD Provisions
Downtown

This trendy American brasserie features a warm, rustic, and social atmosphere, with old brick walls, glass hanging lights, and vintage hardwood floors. With melt-in-your-mouth modern Texas dishes and steak, CBD Provisions will leave you stuffed and still wanting more.
What we love: Ordering the Berkshire Pig Head Carnitas.
Bullion
Oak Cliff

Bullion boasts a range of classic and contemporary French dishes, featuring a menu that celebrates simple ingredients and traditional French techniques. Diners will find themselves at home for lunch, dinner or happy hour in this beautifully designed space with an ambiance, buzz, and feel of a brasserie. Designed by noted Swedish interior architect Martin Brudnizki, Bullion reflects a highly decorative aesthetic with exceptional bespoke details—from a facade clad in gold scales to an interior of midcentury furniture in mohair velvet, leather upholstery, and a statement rose gold leaf ceiling. Art commissions for Bullion include a two-story glass sculpture by Jean-Michel Othoniel, a stainless-steel sculpture by Kathryn Andrews, and flocked canvas panels by Matthew Chambers, along with works by Nate Lowman, Anna Ostoya, Ugo Rondinone, Elad Lassry, and Brock Fetch.

Uchi
Uptown

With dishes from James Beard Award–winning Chef Tyson Cole, Uchi presents hot and cool Japanese cuisine that pushes boundaries. Mansion Bar
Turtle Creek

The Mansion Bar is a sophisticated establishment inside of Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, with cognac-colored leather walls, suede seats, low lights, and traditional and contemporary art. The cocktail menu features seasonal cocktails, modern and classic vintage drinks, and Mansion Bar originals.
What we love: The Mansion G&T, served with the house-made tonic.
Nobu
Uptown

Known for its delicious Japanese cuisine, this Nobu location opened in 2005 with its eye-catching river stone wall and onyx sushi bar. Serving guests a touch of Southern charm, Nobu wins over the community with its famed omakase, new style sashimi, and warm interior.
What we love: The Tuna Tataki with Cilantro Dressing.
