Susan Meiselas: Cartographies du Corps

The Rencontres d’Arles presents “Cartographies du Corps.”

July 4, 2022 - September 25, 2022

The Rencontres d’Arles presents “Cartographies du Corps,” a collaborative installation by American photographer Susan Meiselas and Italian composer Marta Gentilucci on view through September 25. The exhibition features a collaboration between these artists which speaks to the living beauty which inhabits the bodies and experiences of aging women. The show, set in the chapel of Saint-Blaise, subverts traditional conceptions of old age as a deprivation of possibility or source of illness, by presenting a lyrical view of the richness of intimacy and hope which comes of age. The immersive nature of this exhibition transforms the site-specific show into a collective experience.
