The Aspen Art Museum is exhibiting new works by the American painter Cy Gavin. For the artist’s first solo museum presentation in the U.S., he connects concepts of ownership and power within societies through questioning physical sites. Through paintings curated by Saim Demircan, Gavin continues his focus on questioning how these sites—whether natural landscapes, subterranean, or outer space—are subject to identification or definition.
