“Donald Sultan: New Paintings” For his eighth show at Baldwin Gallery, the artist Donald Sultan is presenting new paintings and drawings that communicate his graphic forms in a new light. Known for his bold use of color and combining contrast with elegant surfaces, Sultan is exhibiting expansive pieces that are visually memetic and telling of our current times. Recent pieces—like Blue Covid, Dec 10 2020—are reminiscent of the artist’s recognizable style, yet respond to today’s ongoing current events.
