The Optimist

The Optimist transports visitors from landlocked Atlanta to a coastal destination with dishes of fresh, local seafood.

At Ford Fry’s The Optimist, visitors are transported from landlocked Atlanta to a coastal destination where dishes are made from fresh, local ingredients and sustainable seafood like Maine scallops, Georgia trout, and Alabama oysters. Two distinctive design concepts have transformed the interiors of this old packing house, including the fish market-reminiscent main dining room, which is outfitted with décor like fishing poles and lobster traps, and a beach-themed oyster bar.

Whitewaller recommends: Ordering one of the wood hearth-roasted fish dishes.
