“Green City” features work by Rosa Lachenmeier that deals with the topic of nature and architecture, two predominant aspects in our densely built-up cities. The show is up through June 26 at SARASIN ART in Basel.
Lachenmeier combines motifs from architecture and nature skillfully to create contrasting worlds. The artist uses acrylic painting and photo collage and both canvas and industrial materials, such as Plexiglass and metal as the base to create three-dimensional spaces. Clever arrangement of these materials successfully conveys the rigidity of architecture and playfulness in nature.
