Before his passing, Virgil Abloh worked in collaboration with design house Cassina for the creation of his “Modular Imagination” pieces. Taking the form of a matte-black building block of sorts, Abloh’s concept (available in two different sizes) is a soft-but-sturdy cube that is meant to be stacked and configured into any variation of forms and functions with the help of a simple connecting module. Cassina is celebrating the release at its Flagship store in Milan, coinciding with Salone del Mobile, where visitors can interact with the modules and their many uses—including but not limited to a seating pouf, a bench, or a table.
