“Spinning in the Desert,” the first solo exhibition in Hong Kong by Christine Ay Tjoe, is now on view at White Cube, coinciding with Art Basel Hong Kong 2021. The show features a new series of paintings made in response to the pandemic and its impact on the artist’s everyday life and activities. Ay Tjoe’s work depicts suggestions of figurative or animal forms with intense abstraction and the use of negative space.
