Cleon Peterson: No Place (Utopia)

The visual artist Cleon Petersen presents an exhibition of new paintings, “No Place (Utopia),” at Mindy Solomon Gallery. In his distinctive graphic style, using only shades of black, gray, and white, Peterson explores humans’ struggle for power and for survival in a frenzied, apocalyptic atmosphere; figures move through dynamic and violent conditions, searching for respite and renewal. The L.A.-based artist is widely known for his imaginative and fierce representations of tyrannical figures and the chaos, fear, and horror they inflict upon humanity.
