Lorna Simpson‘s exhibition entitled “Everrrything” is on view at Hauser & Wirth Los Angeles through January 9, 2022. Presented in the north galleries and open-air courtyard are an array of recent and never-before-seen sculptures, paintings, and collages by the artist. Paintings elaborate her “Ice” series, while collages continue to explore the medium through the reimagining of imagery from vintage issues of Ebony and Jet magazines. Sculptures draw the viewer through the exhibition, from indoors to outside, and through Simpson’s powerful vision. All works on view reveal the ways the artist navigates and communicates the daily experience of American life today, including the nature of representation, identity, gender, race, and history.
